On a trip to Spain and Morocco in 2016, Mr. Kent thought that it would entertain his students if he took selfies at places they learn about in class. Why stop at selfies, though? So he started making short videos about the people, places and ideas he encountered on his trip, and Get Lost, Mr. Kent was born.
Mr. Kent hopes that this blog will help students to connect with Social Studies, education and, above all, that it will inspire them to do traveling of their own some day.
Mr. Kent taught Social Studies in the South Bronx neighborhood of New York City for four years and is now teaching in Harlem. He graduated cum laude from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts with a B.A. in Geography. He also holds a Masters in Public Administration from New York University and a Masters of Science in Education from St. John’s University in Queens, NY.
