Aquincum: Budapest’s ancient Roman fort

A short train ride from the center of Budapest is Aquincum, one of the forts that marked the edge of the Roman Empire. I love borders, so this was a fun trip to make. While I was there checking out the ruins, I met a class of 6th graders from a nearby school who wanted to say hello to my 6th graders in NYC!

In addition to the ruins, Aquincum has a great museum with artifacts from the site.
