Food Market in Tangier, Morocco

I was lucky to be in Tangier on a day when the markets was open. I met Muhammad the butcher, who prepared and sold beef, as well as vendors of bread, spices, and yummy fruits and veggies!

According to the laws of Islam, animals must be slaughtered and cooked in a specific way for Muslim people to be allowed to eat them. Just like in Judaism, it is against Islamic law for Muslim people to eat pork.

Eat your fruits and vegetables . . .
